Vanessa’s sister Pamela Jayne Holopainen has been missing since December 14, 2003 which has motivated Vanessa to be an advocate for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two Spirit. As an Indigenous woman herself, Vanessa has personally experienced abuse, neglect, racism and poverty. In March 2020, Vanessa decided to decolonize by making her own jewelry. She found that she enjoyed working with seal skin so much that she would want to share that joy with others. Vanessa officially opened Resilient Inuk Creations in May 2021. Vanessa is also gifted the talent to bead red dress items in support of MMIWG2S awareness. All profits from red dress items go directly to my missing sisters children. Vanessa hopes her products bring you as much pride as it does for her when creating these beautiful pieces.
